HAWAII VS IDAHO TAILGATE PARTY - ALOHA STADIUM

HAWAII VS IDAHO FOOTBALL
ALOHA STADIUM

The Warriors dominated in a 45-10 victory at Aloha Stadium last night.  The pre-game tailgate party was also a total domination of food and fun. We enjoyed a little of just about everything at this tailgate. The menu included; Fresh Sashimi, Tako Poke, Ahi Poki with Tobiko, Grilled Apple Sausage, Habanero Sausage, Grilled Shrimp in Chimichurri Sauce, Fried Rice, Grilled Rib Eye Steak, Teriyaki Chicken, Shoyu and Ginger Mahi Mahi, Hot Dogs and Steamed Lobster Tails with Butter.  Topped all this off with a little cold beer and Moet Chandon Champagne.

LONESTAR STEAKHOUSE - GUAM

LONE STAR STEAKHOUSE

LONESTAR STEAKHOUSE
GUAM

We took a customer out for steak in Guam. The Lonestar Steakhouse does a pretty good job. Steaks were a bit fatty but had flavor. The bread and salad were great and so was the service. Best part was the cold beer. The bottles here are like double sized. Place is filled with locals and Japanese tourists. Friendly atmosphere and good place to have dinner with friends or business associates.

TREES POOLSIDE BAR - HILTON GUAM

TREES POOLSIDE BAR
HILTON HOTEL, GUAM

To end our stay in Guam our new customers took us to one of their favorite places for pupu's and drinks. The Tree's bar is located outside at the Hilton hotel on Tumon Bay. The hotel and restaurant are very dated. The bar is adjacent to the Luau show which is very loud. We had grilled chicken, chicken wings, fries, onion rings, potsickers and a fried poke.

JEFF'S PIRATE COVE - GUAM

JEFF'S PIRATE COVE
IPAN TALOFOFO, GUAM

The highlight of my Guam dining experiences was a visit to Jeff's Pirate Cove. I had read about this place on the internet when I googled "the best places to eat in Guam". My customer was very happy to take us on the drive that is about 25 minutes from the main Tumon business area. Jeff's is located on a beautiful beach with clear water and open space. He has a basketball court, volleyball court, putting green and beach area for his guests. The place comes complete with a large souvenir shop where you can purchase Pirate Jeff T'Shirts and everything else Pirate Jeff. Jeff is the ultimate marketer. He greets each busload of Japanese tourists, takes pictures and smiles for everyone. When I asked for a photo, he asked where I was from and moved us to a location that had better sunlight for the photo. Great guy Pirate Jeff. The burgers are good too. For about $10 you get a 1/2 pound burger with lettuce, onion, tomato and cheese. The bun has the Pirate Jeff brand mark on it. Good juicy burger but the bun is not thick enough on the bottom. It kind of disappeared on me leaving me with a handful of beef. The service was excellent. The waiter thought it was taking too long for our burgers and brought everyone complimentary salads. The salad was excellent. To end the meal everyone is given a bowl of ice cream and big thank you.

SAMURAI TEPPANYAKI - GUAM

SAMURAI TEPPANYAKI
GUAM

Enjoyed an absolutely huge and delicious lunch at the Samurai Teppanyaki in Guam. Our customers in Guam recommended the restaurant and joined us for this great meal. For $16 you get steak, chicken and shrimp cooked at your table plus a full salad bar, sushi and soup bar. The salad bar is excellent and so was the soup. In addition to Miso Soup, there were two other selections available. I tried the beef soup and it was delicious. There is so much food served for one person that you could eat half and have enough to take home for dinner. This is a great place.

PREGO ITALIAN RESTAURANT - THE WESTIN GUAM RESORT

PREGO ITALIAN RESTAURANT
WESTIN GUAM RESORT

Enjoyed a great meal at Prego in the Westin Guam Resort. Service was excellent and I was surprised to find the pasta to be perfectly cooked and al dente. I had the Bolognese Pasta. It was very meaty and tasty. My associate enjoyed the Seafood Pasta and loved it. The Antipasta Salad was good and so was the cheesy bread served with your meal. Entrees here were around $28. A bit expensive, but this is a nice restaurant with great service and views of the bay.

TASTE - WESTIN GUAM RESORT

TASTE
WESTIN GUAM RESORT

The Westin Guam has a very nice restaurant where they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets. We stopped in our first morning in Guam. The breakfast buffet included all the standards plus a omelette bar and specialty dishes for the many Japanese tourists. You can see my plate here. A little fried rice, ham, bacon and a waffle. The breakfast buffet cost $28. Suffice to say we ate breakfast at Denny's the next two days. Good food but I won't pay $28 for breakfast unless it includes unlimited champagne.

THE WESTIN GUAM RESORT - TAMUNING, GUAM

THE WESTIN GUAM RESORT
TUMON, GUAM

I was totally surprised by the Westin Guam Resort. It exceeded my expectations in almost every way. The resort is beautiful, the staff is friendly and the location is perfect. The front desk staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was large and comfortable with a nice work station and large bathroom with separate shower and tub. While I did not go into the pool, the pool bar was the best place to be at sunset. Great bartender named Victoria who always had a smile and cold brew waiting for us. The lobby bar while simple was a good place to have an evening drink, coffee or light snack. The hotel has great views of Tumon Bay. There is shopping within the hotel and various shops and restaurants within a minute walk outside. I give this place the big thumbs up and would not hesitate to recommend it to people traveling to Guam on business or vacation.
