CHICKEN, CHEESE AND AVOCADO SANDWICH
DINNER AT HOME
With my girls on vacation, I have had to fend for myself for dinner this week. I picked up one of those Rotisserie Chickens at the market and made Chicken Tacos the other day. I checked the refrigerator and saw that there was an avocado and some hamburger buns so I whipped up a pretty darn good chicken salad sandwich. Shredded some of the chicken breast and added chopped onion, celery, sweet relish and some chopped jalapenos for kick. Poured in a little mayo to bring the chicken salad together. Placed lettuce, cheese on the bun topped it with the chicken and topped it with slices of fresh avocado. Thought this was delicious and will make again and again. Still have chicken left for the next two days.

We walked from the Aria through a beautiful mall and ended up at the Cosmopolitan Hotel. This place is hip. Packed with twenty somethings night and day. We had late night cocktails at Holsteins and lunch at a funky little place that serves Chinese and Mexican food from the same menu. My friend had the soup and I had tacos. Not bad.

We hit Cafe Vettro for some very late night dining after seeing a show and spending some time at the tables. I tried a Burrito with Pastrami and Eggs. This bad boy was delicious.

Prior to seeing a show, we decided to split a sandwich at the Backstage Deli at the Luxor. After waiting a few minutes in line we ordered up a Pastrami and Turkey Sandwich with Cole Slaw and Swiss Cheese. This sandwich was GREAT!

The Todd English Pub is located right next to the Aria Hotel. This makes it very easy to drop in for a cocktail, appetizer or good meal. I visited this place on my last trip to Las Vegas and liked it. This trip was even better because of great service by the bartender and staff. Once again I went for the fresh Oysters and Clams. They are shucked at the bar and served chilled. Yummy. This time we tried the "Dirty Chips". This is a huge pile of house made potato chips topped bacon, scallions, tomato and bleu cheese and served with fried chicken livers. The chips are great, but this is a big heavy and filling dish. We did not even put a dent in the pile. My hat is off to the crew here. Great young people who understand customer service. We just had to see Dylan for one time in our lives. He is a living legend. While I don't love his music, I think he has his place. Dylan has a very unique voice. I think you either love it or hate it. I am in the middle because there will never be anyone like him. Enjoyed the show and could not believe all the people that worship this guy. I actually enjoy the clips below more and more after hearing them. Dylan has one funky voice, but it grows on you. Once again the Aria Hotel came up with some choice tickets. Second row center.

This is my third blog on Hot N Juicy Crawfish in Las Vegas. Been there three times and all were awesome experiences. Absolutely love this place. The food is fantastic and the staff is friendly and energetic. This was an all out seafood feast. We went for several bags of CrawFish, Clams, Alaskan King Crab, Shrimp, Sausage, Corn and Cat Fish. Everyone was blown away by the flavors, but the King Crab and Corn were everyones favorite. When I asked for more corn, the waitress brought it out soaking in a bath of the famous Hot N Juicy Sauce. Wow..this is the bomb.

We found a great pizza restaurant just outside the Aria Hotel. Wolfgang Puck Pizzeria serves some really good pizza in a restaurant that is an architectural gem. They must have spent millions building this place out. It is beautiful! We had a Margherita Pizza ($14) and the Meat Pizza ($16). Both were excellent.

Never thought I would pay money to see Carrot Top. We were discussing shows and thought Carrot Top was a joke. Then we begin to think about it. How could this guy headline in Las Vegas if he was not a good entertainer. Just for the heck of it we said let's go see the show and then we could at least say that we saw Carrot Top. The concierge at the Aria Hotel hooked us up with third row seats for the show which is at the Luxor. The showroom is small and intimate so there isn't really a bad seat. Our seats however were great. Carrot Top is non stop with props and gags. Joke after joke after joke, it just does not slow down. Then at the end, he blasts the place with rock music and more jokes. The show was actually pretty funny. Enjoyed the entire evening. Especially when he came into the audience with a bottle of Crown Royal and poured shots for the crowd. Don't know if I would pay to see this again, but it was good fun.

We decided to see Carrot Top who was playing at the Luxor Hotel. After the show, we dined at Tender. We had a great Vietnamese waiter who really made sure everything was just right. We both started with the Caesar Salad ($10). This was a basic Caesar with large pieces of anchovies. Not bad, but not great. The Creamed Corn ($9) was delicious. I had the 20oz Ribeye ($49). This steak was cooked perfectly and delicious. Could not stop eating it. My friend enjoyed a perfect 8oz Filet Mignon ($40). Cut like butter. Enjoyed the food ambiance and service here.
