PIKE PLACE CHOWDER
We discovered Pikes Place Chowder during our last visit to Seattle. I wanted to take my friend so we walked up the hill from Pike Place Market and found the little hole in the wall chowder heaven. The place was the same as I remember with the exception of a huge line. The line could be because they had just won The Peoples Choice for Best Chowder for 2011. We stood in line and then ordered from the huge chalk board above the cash register. Went with a cup of the standard New England Chowder ($4.95) and the Four Cup Sampler ($10.95). We both loved the New England Chowder best. The Sampler included a Smoked Salmon Chowder, Seafood Chowder, Scallop Chowder and Manhattan Style Chowder. I liked the Smoked Salmon Chowder best out the the four samplers. This is good hearty chowder and I would highly recommend a visit here.
