STANFORD UNIVERSITY

STANFORD UNIVERSITY

PALO ALTO, CA

Had to make a stop at Stanford University since doctors here were instrumental in getting a family member care in their Cancer department.  The doctors at Stanford really came through for us and we are forever grateful.  As you exit the freeway just miles from San Francisco you are transformed into another world as the concrete and noise of the city become a tranquil residential community with beautiful tree lined streets.  We entered the campus through what seemed to be acres of open space filled with trees.  Beautiful we said.  Wow...was this a campus or Country Club.  "Keli, you are going here" both me and my wife yelled.  We drove past medical buildings and just took in the moment.  We parked in front of the older historic section of the campus and just strolled through the courtyards.  This place is special.  Not your average college.  Students on bikes passed by and older faculty members or workers smiled and said hi.  What was supposed to be a few minute stop became several hours of just walking, enjoying and taking in the scenery.  We ended the visit with a drive over to the athletic complex where the Cardinal excel in a variety of sports.  First class facilities to say the least.  Most of the pictures here are from the older section of the college.  There are also dozens of modern buildings, art museums, sculptures and open space that are beautiful.  All this and two doctors here took the time to help out a family that they did not know and had to influence or special connections.  They simply cared and wanted to help.  Cannot tell you how much this means to me.  I am forever a Stanford fan now!

FUTURE STANFORD GRADUATE?
