Nola did not live up to expectations.  With Emeril Lagasse's name on the menu I thought this would be a home run from the start.  Every other Emeril's restaurant that I have visited has been above expectations.  Nola failed on all levels.  First off the service was horrible.  I would never believe that these were Emeril employees based on experiences at his other restaurants.  Our waitress seemed distant, unorganized, lost and out of touch.  I don't know if she spoke english because she did not say a single word.  Just head motions.  We waited forever for our food.  She said nothing.  Never approached the table to say she was working on it.  Never offered an apology.  Really never said another word.  We had to hound down another waiter at the end to take our check.  Our waitress was gone.  So the service sucked.  It took a while to get the food.  How was the food?  Terrible, with the exception of the BBQ Shrimp we had ordered as an appetizer for the table.  The BBQ Shrimp screamed with New Orleans flavors that make you want to return to this city.  Our sandwiches left us wondering why we came to this place.  After a few bites we threw in the towel and left half or more of our food on the table.  Left Nola's hungry and searching for some Gumbo and Crab Cakes.  I would definitely return to Nola's to try other menu items or perhaps the dinner menu.  I know that Emeril would not disappoint two times.

THE FRIES WERE THE ONLY THING WE ATE

MISS HAY'S VIETNAMESE PO BOY
BBQ PORK, DUCK LIVER MOUSSE PATE, SWEET PICKLED
CARROTS, CILANTRO, CUCUMBER AND JALAPENOS.
SERVED WITH KIM CHEE SALAD.
SOUNDS SO GOOD ON THE MENU.  NOT SO GOOD.
