Roy's Hawaii Kai puts on a really good 4th of July party from 5:00 to 9:00 pm.

The restaurant sits right in front of the ocean and Moanalua Bay.  There is no better place to be to eat, drink and enjoy the fireworks.  The restaurant is closed on the 4th.  Tickets for this special event are sold in advance and always sell out about a week before the 4th.  Adults $60 / Children $30.  

Roy's transforms the front of the restaurant into an outdoor bbq with tables and tents loaded with different food items.  The interior of the restaurant and bar are all open so you can walk inside and sit at the tables throughout the evening.  There is loads of food upstairs on the bar fronting the cooking station.  Same food as served outside on the lawn and patio.  One great thing about Roy's on the 4th is that they do not oversell the place.  There is plenty of room for large and small parties and you never feel crowded or have to wait in long lines for food.  You can stroll in and out of the restaurant without crowds of people all around.  This year the young staff walked around the party with large trays of food serving you right at your table.  There are waiters to take your beverage order.  You can order from the full bar and wine menu.  Admission does not include alcohol.  We always run a tab and pay after the fireworks are done.  While it seemed that there was less variety of food this year, the quality is always top notch.  Don't know if I saw everything that was available but I know we did our best to sample most of the dishes.  This is a great event and the only place I want to be on the 4th of July in Hawaii.  

My hats off to the staff at Roy's for being very friendly and making this a great event.
