I wrote about Wahoo's when they first opened in Hawaii on Ward Avenue.  You can search this blog for my review.  I hated it.  After spending time eating the worlds best Mexican food in San Diego I returned to Hawaii craving for some tacos.  We decided to try Wahoo's at the Kahala Mall area of Honolulu.  Wow...what a mistake.  We entered to find a messy table and sign that said Please Wait to Be Seated.  We waited and waited and not one person showed up at the hostess stand.  I walked around the corner to what looked like a takeout window and asked the girl if we can be seated.  She said to take a seat anywhere.  We did.  I noticed a very interesting Bloody Mary against the wall under one of the flat screen monitors showing NFL games.  Had to try one of these when I saw you could add fresh jalapenos, salsa and hot sauce to your drink.  The Bloody Mary Bar with Grey Goose Vodka set me back $8.  We ordered Chips and Salsa ($2.95).  Chips were good but the salsa is just chopped tomato and onion.  Not a Chips type dip.  The Taquitos ($6.95) were mostly tortilla served dry with guacamole and sour creme.  Not my favorite especially when you look at the Juanitas Taquitos for around two bucks.  The Carne Asada Taco ($4.65) was filled with mostly lettuce and some old dry beef that tasted nothing like Carne Asada.  The Fish Taco ($3.65) had a nice piece of fish in it but with two corn tortillas you really cannot taste anything but the tortilla.  This is not a good fish taco.  The Banzai Burrito ($10.89) tasted like a sweet candy burrito.  Filled with sweet rice that overpowers everything else in the burrito.  This is NOT MEXICAN FOOD.  It is crap.  Service was terrible.  We asked for more salsa and it never arrived.  The waiter acted like he was doing us a favor taking our order.  He had the personality of a tortilla chip.  No, I take that back.  The chip rocks compared to this guy.  We could not get anyone to come by the table for our tab.  I walked to the bar and asked for our bill.  Our waiter was there.  He said nothing.  Nothing.  Not thank you.  How was it or kiss my butt.  He handed me the bill and I returned it to him with a tip that he truly deserved.  If you want Mexican food don't go to Wahoo's.  As bad as Mexican food is in Hawaii, this is one of the worst.  How they stay in business is beyond me.  The restaurant is dirty, the food sucks and the service is bad.  Really bad. UPDATE:  THEY CLOSED THIS DUMP.
