We had an overnight in San Francisco before flying back to Hawaii and did not want to go far for dinner.  We opted to try Bob's Steak and Chop House that is located inside the Omni Hotel on California Street.  We had an early seating and were surprised to be given a private table away from the main dining room.  The room was totally secluded and very private.  It was quiet and we felt like it was just the family at home enjoying a nice dinner.  Our waiter was to the point and rushed us through what should have been at least a two hour dinner in just 45 minutes.  Towards the end, he was just going through the motions to get us out and we did not really appreciate this.  The dinner started with a jar of fresh pickles and red peppers on the table.  The pickle was delicious.  We were given some bread that was warm and served with butter.  I started us off with the Shrimp Platter ($24).  Two Shrimp Cocktail, Two Fried Shrimp and Two Shrimp Remoulade.  The Shrimp Cocktail and Fried Shrimp were excellent.  Did not understand the Shrimp Remoulade.  Seemed to be Shrimp Cocktail with a different sauce.  The Chophouse Salad ($11) was pretty basic.  Lettuce, Cucumber, Tomato, Red Onion, Bacon and Hearts of Palm.  The Beefsteak Tomato and Onion Salad ($11) did not look too good on the plate and the dressing was a bit bland.  Real onion taste here that the Bleu Cheese could not even cover up.  I went with the 22 oz Cote de Boeuf Bone in Ribeye ($58).  This steak looked fantastic but was not seasoned.  Did not taste like it was salt and peppered.  Served with a Baked Potato with the works.  Liked the potato but the steak did not live up to my expectations.  The Prime Bone-In Kansas City Strip ($53) was recommended by our waiter.  My wife said the steak had no taste and was very disappointed.  She ordered the steak with Skillet Fried Potatoes with Sauteed Onions and Peppercorn Gravy.  I liked these potatoes.  Nice and crunchy on the outside.  Both entrees were served with a large carrot.  Overall this was an ok dinner but really not worth the price.  The steaks lacked flavor and seasoning and the service was rushed and a bit unfriendly.  The Star of the night was a giant chocolate chip cookie served with ice cream.  This "delivered" on taste!
