Hawaii's renowned chef Roy Yamaguchi has taken over the Tavern at Princeville making this a destination restaurant for lunch or dinner if you are visiting Princeville or Kauai. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed. Service was excellent. I enjoyed the BLTA Sandwich ($13). This was a good sandwich filled with thick bacon slices, avocado, lettuce and tomato. To my surprise and enjoyment the sandwich was not overloaded with mayonnaise like most sandwiches in Hawaii. The French Fries here are amazing. Thin, crisp and seasoned to perfection. LOVED THE FRIES! The Tavern Bacon Blue Burger ($18) was a monster burger with caramelized onions and bacon. My Nephew loved the burger and the fries. The Vegetarian Pasta Primavera ($13) was a huge bowl of vegetables smothered in a little too much cheese. Liked all the vegetables but wished there was a little more pasta in the bowl and less cheese. We all enjoyed the Tavern at Princeville and I would recommend it for lunch or dinner if you do not mind the slightly high prices.
