Heading to the Los Angeles Airport after a half hour discussion and reflection on where we were going to eat. We decided to go for Mexican food at Pancho's rather than make a stop at In N' Out Burger. Glad we went for Mexican because this meal hit the spot before boarding my flight back to Honolulu. Pancho's is an institution in Manhattan Beach and it has been in business since 1932! The restaurant is beautiful and relaxing. Like sitting in someones backyard on a nice estate. The two story space is filled with trees and plants with warm wood furniture that transports you out of the city and into paradise. Our server named Ely was a 39 year veteran at Pancho's. Nearly his entire life has been spent in this beautiful space serving up some really good Mexican food. We started with Chips and Salsa. The salsa was a bit chunky and packed a bit of heat. Really good stuff. A side order of Guacamole set us back $7.45 but it was good with the chips. I went with my standard Combination ($15.95) of One Beef Taco and Chicken Enchilada with rice and beans. The food was good but not as good as Panama Joes where we had dined a day earlier. My friend enjoyed the Tacos Al Carbon ($16.95). Tacos filled with Flat Iron Steak served up with some delicious beans and sauces.
