Forget the fact that I booked this restaurant because I thought it was a different chef that owned it.  Got the names mixed up and booked dinner at Colicchio and Sons in New York.  Wow….what a great mistake.  This was hands down one of the best meals of my life.  Forget the price…with Chef's Tasting Menu with Wine Pairing it was over $200 per person.  Worth it?  Yes!  The food and service here were both exceptional.  From the time we entered and were greeted by a smiling hostess to the jaw dropping end of our meal when we got the bill, this was a culinary experience second to none.  Better than La Bernardin and Le Cirque and up there with Babbo's.  Colicchio and Sons hit on all cylinders and delivered the flavors on every single dish.  Every bite here was a joy.  The fact that each of our seven courses was paired with a delicious wine probably helped the attitude adjustment and make everything just a little better.  Each dish and glass of wine was served by a young person with a wide range of culinary experiences.  Our waitress was a graduate of culinary school and married to a chef.  Another waiter had both classroom and real life experiences at some of the top restaurants in America.  Each wine and dish served was described in detail and they did it with feeling and seemed to enjoy it.  Not like robots who are going through the paces because this is a job.  If you stop and ask a question about the food, preparation or the wine, they provide detailed answers that really amazed us.  Not so much the answer but the genuine interest they have in the food, wine and job.  Great staff of young foodies that impressed us on so many levels.  The food was as impressive as the servers with each plate bringing smiles and several comments like "this is the best ever" and "damn this is great" (probably used some more graphic words but will keep the "G" rated.  It was fucking great!
