When I saw the Pommery Champagne sign while walking around Edinburgh I wanted to sit outside and enjoy a glass. Rain meant the outdoor seating was closed so I reluctantly walked inside not knowing that I was walking into a beautiful library. I was stunned to find that they had turned this beautiful library into a Champagne and wine bar. Marketing genius I thought to myself. This was so cool. I cruised in wearing shorts and a golf shirt. Others were dressed in jeans to suits. Pretty mixed crowd here. I enjoyed a flight of four different Champagnes and some delicious Smoked Pate. Loved the Champagne Pate and ambiance. Would have stayed here for hours if I had somebody to talk to. This was a fabulous place to enjoy a glass of bubbly. Highly recommend.

The fabulous Pommery Champagne Café Bar is once again celebrating the Edinburgh Festival. For three weeks only you can enter the beautiful Signet Library – one of Edinburgh’s finest buildings - and enjoy grown up drinks including superb champagne and divine food in the most spectacular of settings.

Relax with some seriously good coffee and a freshly-baked slice of cake or light-as-a-feather scone - the ultimate energy food before you head out into the madness which is Edinburgh in August. Share a scrumptious platter of deli-style bites with a bottle of Pommery , and indulge in our champagne afternoon tea for two – a real show-stopper and a runaway success last year.

At night the Pommery Champagne Café Bar is transformed with stunning lighting into an inviting and seductive space. Elegant and atmospheric, it’s an experience not to be missed, just like the star attraction of our menu this year: whole lobster with home-made wedges, which we think is just about the best combination ever. For champagne enthusiasts there is the ultimate Cuvee Louise at a remarkably good price and plenty for non-champagne quaffers too, with proper cocktails brought to your table.
