BEEF BROCCOLI AND CAULIFLOWER

BEEF BROCCOLI AND CAULIFLOWER
DINNER AT HOME

I Looked into the refrigerator and saw a steak that needed to be cooked plus a half of a cooked steak that was leftover from a restaurant.  We had some Broccoli and Cauliflower so I decided to make Beef Broccoli and Cauliflower.  Started by slicing up a small sweet onion and some fresh garlic.  I took the uncooked steak and sliced it into thin strips.  Did the same with the cooked leftover steak from the restaurant.  In a small bowl I combined two tablespoons of cornstarch with two tablespoons of water and some garlic powder.  I added the uncooked beef only and tossed to coat.  Added chopped garlic to one tablespoon of vegetable oil that was heated in a large skillet and then put in the uncooked beef and cooked until done.  Added in the cooked beef and heated through.  Removed the beef and added another tablespoon of oil to the empty pan.  Cooked the onion and then added the Broccoli and Cauliflower and cooked until done.  Note:  I blanched the Cauliflower in boiling water before cooking in pan.  Should have done the same to Broccoli.  To finish I added a Soy Sauce, Brown Sugar, Ginger, Cornstarch and Water mixture.  Mixed thoroughly and served with rice.  This was a simple and delicious meal that the entire family loved.
