Yahoo......after 30 years living in Hawaii I finally found a great Carne Asada Burrito!!!!

Alejandro's is the real deal and I am so happy. Readers of this blog know that I love Mexican food and the fact is there just isn't any good Mexican food on Oahu. That has all changed with the opening of Alejandro's in Kalihi. I feel like jumping up and down because I grew up in San Diego living on Carne Asada Burritos. They were my go to meal morning - noon and late night. Now I have a place close to home to satisfy my hunger for a good burrito. I tried the Wet Burrito Wednesday Special ($13) and immediately loved the flavors. What I liked best was that the burrito was filled mostly with meat and just enough rice and beans to add more texture and flavor. The fresh onion and cilantro also add flavor and I love it. The Enchilada sauce was excellent and the hot sauce had the perfect amount of heat. Get the green hot sauce. That is the one that packs a punch. On another day I ordered the Wet Burrito and they said they only make them wet (with enchilada sauce) on Wednesdays. I ordered a regular 10" Carne Asada Burrito ($9.50) and was pleasantly surprised. Really do not need to order the Wet Burrito. The standard version is delicious. After eating two burritos here in one week I am sold. I am actually craving another one now. I also tried all of the Tacos here. Carne Asada, Beef and Carnitas. Disappointed with the Beef Taco because they use ground beef. I prefer a Shredded Beef Taco. The Carnitas and Carne Asada Tacos were the closest I have tasted to the great Tacos in San Diego. Yummy!!!!!!
