WAOLANI WINDOWS

We had not been up to the Oahu Country Club in awhile so we headed up on a Saturday night to see if Waolani Windows was still serving up delicious food.  As we entered the second floor restaurant overlooking Downtown Honolulu we were pleased to see that the Club has added a new bar at the entrance to Waolani called 1906.  This was the year Oahu Country Club was founded.  The small bar and seating area serves up specialty cocktails and Pupu's in a relaxed environment and is a nice place to start your evening when dining at Waolani Windows.  Our dinner began with Grilled Octopus which was good but a bit overcooked and rubbery.  The Ahi Sashimi was fresh and delicious and we like the slices of Avocado served with the Sashimi.  The golf leaf however is not necessary.  Just give me quality, fresh Sashimi with some Soy Sauce and Wasabi and I am very happy.  No need to add the gold.  We always enjoy the Caesar Salad here.  Served with a Poached Egg and Parmesan Crisp.  The Onion Soup was delicious but the Lobster Bisque tasted like Tomato Soup and was not good.  The star of this meal was the Braised Beef Ravioli with Mushrooms and Foie Gras.  Perfection on a plate and a dish that I would order over and over again.  The Foie Gras melts like butter and when tasted with the Ravioli, Braised Beef and Mushrooms is heaven.
