After a one visit lunch visit to Fete, I already want to go back.  Really liked the food here and for a very busy lunch crowd the service was very efficient with the food coming out quickly.  We started with the Chicken Liver Mousse ($15) served with Country Bread and Pickled Okra.  The Chicken Liver was excellent and the bread was perfect for spreading it on.  Liked the flavor and texture.  The Pickled Okra was crunchy and went well with the dish.  Next up were the Deviled Eggs ($6) with Smoked Trout Roe.  These were good but all I could imagine while eating them is that I used to use Trout Roe for fish bait when I was a kid fishing in the High Sierras in California.  Other than that memory, the Deviled Eggs were delicious.  There was a Daily Special of Green Papaya with Avocado and Crab.  Sounded delicious so we ordered it.  It was delicious but the presentation could have been better.  Instead of showcasing the Crab which was great, they covered it up with a thin round piece of Green Papaya.  Shredded Green Papaya would have been better with the Crab on top I thought.  Last up was the Linguine Carbonara ($18) with Slab Bacon and Portuguese Sausage.  There was way too much cheese in this dish for me and the Bacon and Sausage were pretty much non existent on my plate.  The waitress did split the portion for us so maybe most of the meat went to my friend.  This was a good dish but the amount of cheese just made it very filling and unsatisfying.  All in all this was a great meal and I really want to get back to Fete for lunch or dinner soon.  Great addition to the downtown restaurant scene for sure!
