We were staying in downtown Long Beach and were looking for some Mexican food. A quick search listed Los Compadres as a favorite. We walked up Pine Avenue and found Los Compadres packed during the lunch hour. Mostly locals and people speaking Spanish with a gal making fresh tortillas behind the bar. Food coming out of the kitchen looked colorful and amazing. My anticipation for some great Mexican food was at a very high level. Started with Chips and Salsa which were just ok. Salsa was pretty standard. I ordered at Shredded Beef Taco and Enchilada with Rice and Beans. Both were good but not great. The Carne Asada Taco and Chili Relleno were ok according to my Wife. She ordered the Carne Asada Taco in a hard shell. Might have been better in one of their homemade flour tortillas. My Daughter ordered Chicken and Beef Taquitos and said it was good.
All in all this was ok Mexican food but I don't think I would return.
