WOW....I got a new fave in San Diego's North County. The Pillbox Tavern rocks with great food.
This is a favorite of my friend who lives in San Diego so he took me there for some Wings and Beer. He said they had good chili too so we tried a bowl. The Chili was good and served with chips for dipping. Meaty and delicious. There was a Daily Special on Rib Tips so we ordered that too. The Ribs were fall off the bone delicious. Loved the sauce and flavor. Also liked the Cole Slaw. The Chicken Wings were great with big flavor. We tried the Buffalo and Lemon Pepper. Buffalo Sauce was perfect. Tasty with a bit of heat. Lemon Pepper surprised me with great flavor too. Loved the Wings! Everything coming out of the kitchen here looked amazing. The Burgers look and presentation of the Burgers made me crave one but I had no room after the Chili, Ribs and Wings.
Service was excellent on a not too busy early evening.
This is definitely on my "go to" list now when visiting North County San Diego.
