KILIM GEOFOREST PARK - LANGKAWI, MALAYSIA

 KILIM GEOFOREST PARK
LANGKAWI, MALAYSIA

Langkawi was one of the coolest and funnest days of our trip and totally unexpected.  We did not book a tour or know anything about this Island in Malaysia.  Had no plans and did no research so when we arrived we had no expectations or schedule.  What to do?  Well, we hired a local cab driver who grew up on Langkawi and he gave us the royal tour.  Actually gave us one of the best days ever cruising the Kilim Geoforest in our private boat and then ATV riding afterwards.  Langkawi is one of the most Muslim places we have ever visited with all of the woman wearing Burkas.  Even on boats and ATV's the woman wear full head to toe Burkas covering everything but their eyes.  I learned that these woman do not like to be photographed so I respected this and did not take any photos of them.  What I have learned from our World travel is that all people are the same.  They want the same things in life.  Family, food, love and great experiences.  While we did not talk to the woman in Burkas you could see that they were no different than you and me.  I enjoyed seeing a different way of life and how different cultures live.  The Kilim experience for us was great.  We rented a boat and driver and he cruised us up the river and out to the ocean.  We were able to visit a fish farm, bat cave and experience monkey's in the wild.  One of the coolest things were seeing Eagles soaring around us in their natural environment.  This was amazingly beautiful.
