RESTAURANT SAVOEY

A crew member aboard our cruise ship was from Thailand so we asked her for a restaurant recommendation in Phuket.  She thought for a minute and then wrote down the name Savoey.

After walking down the main strip fronting the beach in Phuket, we finally showed someone our note and they turned us around and got us going in the right direction to Savoey.  Oh I am so glad we did not give up and asked for help.  Savoey was Seafood Heaven and now on the top ten list of the best meals of my life.  We looked at the huge menu and saw so many items we wanted to try.  The waiter then asked us to follow him to the market within the restaurant.  He picked up a basket and walked us through all the seafood.  If we wanted something he put it in the basket.  Ok...lets do this big I thought.  We started by picking a fresh local fish.  Then Prawns, Clams, Calamari, Crab and Lobster.  He put the basket on a counter next to a large outdoor kitchen and asked us how we would like each dish prepared.  I said we wanted the fish done Sweet and Sour, Clams, Prawns and Lobster with Garlic Butter and the Crab done Pepper style.  Calamari we ordered grilled with lemon.  My goodness every dish was incredible.  The Sweet and Sour Fish was the best ever and everything else blew us away.  To start the meal we ordered a Green Papaya Salad and it was the best one in my life.  So fresh, perfect heat and great flavor.  This was a lot of food for three people and we could only eat half of the huge lobster.  Believe it or not we got most of the food down.  It was just too good to waste.  This restaurant is huge with indoor and outdoor seating.  Everything is open air so it is a bit hot.  Our table overlooked the Main Street so it was good to eat and people watch.  There was live music throughout the night.  We feasted on all this incredible seafood and the family next to us had a daughter that ordered Spaghetti with Ketchup.

As she at her Spaghetti, I was going from Lobster to Prawns, Crab, Clams and Fresh Fish.
