A cold (75 degree) and rainy Hawaii evening is the perfect time to enjoy a bowl of hot Vietnamese Pho. We ordered takeout and had this dinner at home. Delicious!

I met Cameron and Bahaneh Hobel 2014 at a private party at Tamber Bey Winery in Calistoga. Since then I have loved their wines and been fortunate to have dinner, golf and enjoy time with the Hobel family. The Hobel's love Hawaii and visit here often. On this visit Cameron gave a private tasting of 9 of Hobel vintages. 2009 - 2014 were served. Wow...this was a lot of delicious wine and in fact we had leftovers and brought them back to my house where we enjoyed even more. Highly recommend Hobel wines. Check out their website;

My office ordered Teddy's Bigger Burgers online and then picked them up. Don't know what location but think it might have been Aiea. I ordered the Single Burger protein style. Did not get the Cheese and Ketchup that I requested. This is a good burger but at $7 I would prefer two In N' Out Burgers.

These simple Shrimp Tacos were delicious. I coated the Shrimp with a Chili Lime seasoning plus a little Cajun spice. Sautéed them in butter and placed in low carb tortillas. Topped with Cabbage, Cheddar Cheese, Onion, Cilantro, White Sauce, Cotija Cheese and hot sauce.

My office ordered from Alejandro's in Kalihi. I kept it low carb by ordering a Carne Asada Burrito with no Beans or Rice. I opened up the Burrito and at everything but the tortilla.

Still great tasting, filling and satisfying.

Ended up at Shorefyre because my Wife wanted to go somewhere dog friendly. They have outdoor seating with artificial grass that was perfect for us and the dog. We waited 15 minutes before the waiter came to take our order. He was apologetic and ended up providing amazing customer service throughout our meal. A true superstar that I would hire in a second if we still had our restaurant. We started with the Duo of Ahi. The fish was fresh but we did not care for either of the sauces. The best of the two was drenched in a Teriyaki type sauce. The fish, onion and avocado were great but the sauce overpowered the flavor of the Ahi. The second one was basically mayonnaise covered Ahi. Not my fave by a long shot. I went for the Duke Burger which was $18. The burger was not bad but c'mon $18. I think you can get six In N' Out Burgers for that price. The burger patty was a bit dry. My Wife loved the Fries. The Fresh Catch was Ahi. It was simply seared and left with a perfect pink middle. There was no seasoning on the fish at all which we thought was odd. A little salt and pepper would have been nice. The fresh vegetables were really good. While our waiter saved the day, we probably would not return to Shorefyre.

WOW.....what a dinner extravaganza at Casa de Santos. Christmas Eve dinner was the bomb. So blessed and thankful to be able to enjoy a dinner like this with family and friends. This dinner had it all. Delicious appetizers that included Caviar and lots of champagne. The 20 pound Prime Rib was cooked to perfection by my Wife and the Garlic Crab, Au Gratin Potatoes, Creamed Corn and Asparagus with Hollandaise Sauce were all amazing. This was one of the largest and best dinners of my life. Merry Christmas!
