I love Huggo's on the Rocks in Kailua Kona on the Big Island. This oceanfront restaurant and bar really does rock. Food is pretty good and on this visit the service was excellent. We started with the Poke Nachos which were pretty good. I went with the fresh Mahi Mahi and it was delicious. Not much seasoning but the fish was so fresh it really did not need much. I topped the Mahi with a little of the Tarter Sauce and Cole Slaw and that combo was nice.
My Wife had the Fish Tacos with Sweet Potato Fries. The Tacos had the same fresh fish but were a bit bland. Maybe some fresh Salsa and Hot Sauce would have helped. The Sweet Potato Fries were pretty bad. No seasoning and mushy. No crisp. Hey the view and location make up for any food weaknesses.
