We went to the Mai Tai Bar at the Royal Hawaiian expecting to have a little Sunday Brunch. Got there and found out the kitchen was temporarily closed due to a small fire. We had drinks and jumped on OpenTable to try to find another restaurant where we could eat. Orchids at the Helekulani came to mind but there were no reservations available. Instead of looking elsewhere we went to the Halekulani and checked with the hostess to see if we could get in. Low and behold we were seated immediately.
