25 years ago my Wife and myself stumbled upon Trattoria Alla Madonna during our honeymoon and first trip to Venice. The waiter at the time was smitten by Shirley and gave us the best service and food ever. We returned 25 years later with fond memories but had forgotten where the restaurant was located. We knew it was near the Rialto Bridge so we started there and just walked the streets until we found the place. We arrived with a 25 year old photo of the waiter and low and behold he still worked there but was out on medical leave. We were treated with great service and food once again. So good in fact we returned the next day just to say hi, thank you and enjoy some wine and appetizers. This is one of our favorite restaurants and hope someday to return again. Absolutely loved all the food shown here.
