Enjoyed a wonderful dinner and a lot of wine with some dear friends that just by chance were staying in the Palm Springs area of California while I was attending a business function.  We dined on a Sunday evening and the waitress informed us that all of the wines by the bottle were 50% off.  50% off Silver Oak.  My friend ordered two bottles to start.  The lighting was quite dim on the outdoor patio so my photos do not do justice to the food here.  We started with a Steak Tartare Appetizer ($11.00) Finely chopped raw hanger steak served with toast and a pickle.  This dish was good but needed a sauce or other flavor addition to really make it worth ordering again.  The Escargots De Bourgogne ($18) were snails baked in garlic and herb butter.  The snails were a bit dry but butter and garlic taste good on anything.  I enjoyed a Wedge Salad that was delicious and followed that up with the Pan Roasted Idaho Trout Almandine ($25) served with a Fennel Confit and fingerling potatoes.  The large pieces of potatoes did not seem to go with this fish.  May just be me but I would have preferred a different side below the fish.  Loved the company, atmosphere and wine.  Food was ok.
