GRILLED ONO WITH PAPAYA AND AVOCADO SALSA

GRILLED ONO WITH PAPAYA AND AVOCADO SALSA
DINNER AT HOME

So happy when I go into Foodland and find fresh fish available at a great price.  Ono was $6.99 per pound so I was able to make a great tasting and healthy dinner for three for around ten bucks.
Ono is a close relative to King Mackerel.  In Hawaiian, Ono means "sweet, very good to eat".  The filets can be sautéed, broiled, grilled or fried.  I like putting them on the outdoor grill or grill pan.
The fish is very mild so I would recommend seasoning well or adding a good sauce.  I prepared a quick Salsa using fresh Papaya and Avocado.

GRILLED ONO WITH PAPAYA AND AVOCADO SALSA WITH RICE

FRESH HAWAIIAN ONO
ONO OR WAHOO FILET
SEASONED WITH CAJUN SPICES, SALT AND PEPPER THEN GRILLED
ONION, TOMATO, PAPAYA, AVOCADO, CILANTRO, LEMON JUICE, SALT AND PEPPER.
SOMETIMES I ADD BALSAMIC VINEGAR

ONO IS A FIRM MEATY FISH WITH MILD FLAVOR
DO NOT OVERCOOK ONO.  IT CAN GET VERY DRY FAST
