UNITED AIRLINES - HONOLULU TO NARITA, JAPAN

UNITED AIRLINES
HONOLULU TO NARITA

I fly United because I have a lot of miles with them and like using the miles for upgrades like this flight from Honolulu to Narita, Japan.  On this flight I upgraded to Business Class and was seated in the upper deck.  Like the airplane but United really lacks on service.  They are not even in the same league and some of the Asian and European carriers.  Seems like the employees have no interest in customer service and just go through the motions to pick up a pay check.  When you go from say a flight on ANA or JAL and then board a United flight you immediately notice the crew usually does not give a crap about the passengers.  On one leg of this trip I entered the plane to find both flight attendants with their back to passengers.  I blurted out my seat number and one of the attendants pointed to the stairs and said "its up the stairs".  On ANA you are greeted with bright smiles and sometimes even a handshake to welcome you aboard.  When I did get up the stairs on this trip again two flight attendants who were just to occupied to greet customers and smile.  I beg United management and their flight attendants to take a trip on an Asian carrier and see the difference for themselves.  Someone needs to give United Flight Attendants a refresher course on customer service and what there job is all about.  Food on United flights is standard.  Nothing great and they always give the same old ice cream sundaes (which I never eat) for dessert.  My flight was very comfortable and nice to Japan and back but the the service on ANA from Narita to Manila was superior.
