The Kahala area near our home lacks a lot of good restaurant choices so Kapa Hale is a welcome addition to the dining scene.  Located adjacent to Kahala Mall and behind Subway and Olive Tree, this new spot is hot and the place to be in Kahala.  The night we dined on the outdoor lanai here the place was filled with mostly groups of young woman enjoying the food and BYOB bottles of wine.  We were greeted and seated quickly and given a QR code to access the menu.  I brought my own bottle of wine and the waiter quickly brought glasses and opened the bottle.  We started with the highly recommended "Let's Tako Bout it" appetizer which was perfectly cooked Octopus with a dark Black Garlic and Char Siu Sauce.  Served with a light Lomi Salmon salsa.  This was delicious and a great start to our meal.  Next up was the Chicken Liver Mousse with Pickled Onions, Vegetables, Pickles and Beets.  Served with a delicious toasted bread that I only could have a small piece of due to my low carb diet.  The dish was delicious even without the bread.  Loved the Pickled Vegetables.  At this point we said the restaurant was two for two and very happy with the meal.  The Cauliflower with Anchovies and Capers was good too.  Very light and flavorful.  Three for three!  The Kapa Kahi Salad made it four for four as we liked the crisp lettuce, light dressing and again the Pickled Vegetables.  The Special of the Evening was a Lamb Shank with Couscous so I ordered it.  The Lamb was cooked perfectly and the meat fell off the bone.  I was not a big fan of the overpowering Curry spices but the Lamb was delicious.  My Wife tried the Agliatelle alla Shrimp and Bulgogi Bolognese which was a bit sweet and soupy.  When asked if she would order it again she said no.  I tried it thought it was ok.  The Pasta was made fresh which was really nice.  Overall this was a great meal with great service with the exception of the waiter forgetting my Wife's Ice Tea.  He rebounded though by having the kitchen make it exactly how she wanted it.  The Waiters "can do" attitude was refreshing.  We already want to return to Kapa Hale and look forward to when they change the menu and offer some new dishes.  Make a reservation because this place is going to be busy.
