When visiting or staying in Waikiki there is no better place to get a steak dinner than Ruth's Chris. While I am a huge fan and highly recommend D.K.'s Steakhouse and their Paniolo Rib Eye, the Early Bird Special at Ruth's Chris cannot be beat. For $47.95 you get a 8 oz Petite Filet, choice of Side Dish, Salad and Dessert. I remember when you could get this deal at Ruth's Chris for $34.95. Even with the price going up a few bucks it is still a great deal for Waikiki. I love everything about this restaurant which is located on the second floor of Lewers Street Beach Walk development. From the time you approach the Hostess desk to the time you leave full and happy the service is impeccable. They have enlarged the outdoor seating area which is my favorite place to sit on warm Hawaiian nights. Great thing is you can wear shorts, t-shirts and slippers while enjoying some pretty fine dining. The Sizzlin Prime Time Menu which is available from 5:00 to 6:00 PM is what I highly recommend. I ordered the Petite Filet, Broiled Tomatoes, Caesar Salad and Bread Pudding. Wow what a meal for forty eight bucks! I am not kidding when I say that every dish was excellent. Started with the Caesar Salad which is served on a chilled plate with a chilled fork. This really does make a difference. The Romaine Lettuce was cold, crisp and lightly tossed with a delicious dressing. Loved the shaved parmesan cheese too. My wife and daughter raved about the Wedge Salad. They said it was fantastic. The Broiled Tomatoes are one of my favorites. Large tomatoes with a hint of brown sugar, salt and pepper. So sweet and delicious. My Petite Filet was amazing. Cooked to a perfect medium rare and full of flavor. The steaks are served on a sizzling hot plate and topped with butter and the perfect amount of salt. Each bite was heaven and this was the perfect amount of meat for me. The Bread Pudding here is also incredible. The sweet Whiskey Sauce takes this little dessert to another level of flavor. After one bite you cannot stop eating it. Ruth's Chris Waikiki is hands down one of the best restaurants and values when you hit the Sizzlin' Prime Time Menu between 5:00 and 6:00.
