NA KOA FOOTBALL CLUB - 2013 HAWAII FOOTBALL SCHOLARSHIP DINNER

UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII
NA KOA FOOTBALL CLUB
2013 HAWAII FOOTBALL SCHOLARSHIP DINNER
HONOLULU COUNTRY CLUB

Enjoyed an evening at the Honolulu Country Club with members of the Na Koa Football Club and other supporters of University of Hawaii Football.  The event started with a private reception for event sponsors that included some nice pupus along with some beer and wine.  This was a great informal setting where we chatted with Head Coach Norm Chow, University Chancellor Tom Apple and other coaches and supporters.  The wine was flowing pretty freely here so everyone had a good attitude.  I like Tom Apple our Chancellor.  He is a down to earth no B.S. kind of guy who is really doing a great job to get our University and Athletic Department moving in a positive direction.  Norm Chow is a bit reserved and a really nice guy who is passionate about his players and building a winning team.  After the reception we entered the large ballroom and enjoyed a delicious Prime Rib Dinner along with a lot of wine.  Thom Kaumeyer, Defensive Coordinator for Hawaii sat at our table for dinner and program.  Thom is really good person that lived in San Diego for many years.  We traded stories about our favorite Mexican restaurants in San Diego and both agree that Juanita's in Encinitas has the best Carne Asada Burritos and Rolled Tacos.  We both also like Las Olas in Cardiff by the Sea too.  Local television personality Robert Kekaula hosted the program that raises money for Hawaii Football scholarships.  Great event and great cause.  Hawaii opens the 2013 Football Season on August 29th   vs USC Cannot wait for Rainbow Warrior Football.  GO BOWS!!!!!!
