OLDE HANSA RESTORAN KRAMBUDE - TALLINN, ESTONIA

OLDE HANSA RESTORAN KRAMBUDE
TALLINN, ESTONIA

Sometimes we get lucky when cruising the streets of a foreign city.  In Tallinn we hit the jackpot when we walked by Olde Hansa Restoran.  I saw people inside drinking from these huge clay glasses and decided I wanted to try the place.  We entered not knowing what they served or what the place was all about.  Turned out to be one of our best meals on our Baltic vacation.  This is a medieval restaurant that is designed to take you back in time and feed you as you would eat in an old merchants home.  The waiters and waitress dress in medieval costumes and transport you back in time.  I could have sit here all day and drank from the ice cold clay glasses filled with beer.  What was better than the beer though was the food.  We started our meal with a small bag of dried Elk that was like beef jerky.  Delicious and believe me it did not last long on the table.  We ordered the Burgemeister's Game Fillet as our main course to share.  The meats were absolutely incredible and as good as any I have ever tasted.  We enjoyed Elk, Deer and Wild Boar.  The meats were cooked to perfection and the sauce was heaven.  This was good.  I mean REALLY good.  Incredible flavors.
The Neptune's Feast Platter was equally as good on the fish side of things.  We really liked the Smoked Grilled Salmon, Hearing and Anchovies.  What a great meal and experience in Tallinn.  Just one heck of a cool place to eat some really delicious food.  Loved it!
