SEAFOOD LUNCH IN SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA

SEAFOOD LUNCH
SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA

On a Friday during Lent we were looking for seafood while walking through one of Seoul's oldest marketplaces.  We turned into a busy area that had very tight alleys filled with vendors.  Many were cooking right in the alley.  One place caught our eye because it was filled with locals and there was a line to get in.  A closer look inside revealed that this was a popular spot that has been on Korean television many times.  We got in line right alongside the kitchen and watched woman cook fresh fish and make soup in gold color pots.  The entire visual was quite amazing.  We were seated through the chaos and quickly picked our lunch by pointing at the pictures on the menu.  English is not spoken here which was not a problem.  The food was good and we especially liked the Mackerel which was fried but the fish was moist and not greasy.  When we were done and there is a sign that says don't spend too much time eating as they have more guests or something like that we went back outside and paid the bill.  Not bad food and quite the experience.
