INNISBROOK GOLF RESORT

INNISBROOK GOLF RESORT

Innisbrook Golf Resort is just that.  A golf resort that has been listed in Golf Digest as one of the Top 75 Golf Resorts in America.  It is home to the annual PGA Tour Valspar Championship which means the big boys play here for money.  I liked the Copperhead course a lot but as far as the resort, it is not my favorite.  Problem for me is that there are very limited dining options within the resort and to get anywhere you need to call the resort shuttle or drive.  This means if you want to go to the lobby for a drink or breakfast you need to walk a bit, call the shuttle or drive.  I do not like shuttles because they sometimes make multiple stops and you have to sit and listen to people yap.  I would rather check into my room and be able to go downstairs to a variety of restaurants and or bars.  At Innsbrook there are really only two dining options for dinner.  The Steakhouse and the restaurant at the golf shop.  I did like my Executive Suite as they call it here.  Basically a one bedroom condo with a complete kitchen and large covered balcony overlooking one of the golf courses.  Room was ok but the bathroom fan sounded like a jet engine and the tv in the bedroom did not work.  I asked them to fix it and they did but it went out again the same day.  Internet service here was terrible.  I could not get a connection during my entire stay.  In fact, my phone did not get reception unless I went outside.  I went to the front desk and asked about this and the guy said there was no problem.  I showed him my phone with "no service" and he just shrugged.  Same guy was so lazy when we checked in that he would not move my co-worker closer to my room so we did not have to drive far.  While he would not move him, my co-worker did go back and speak to a manager and was moved.  Service here was good in restaurants but lacked at front desk.  When we checked in there were three bellmen standing at the front talking to each other.   Not one asked us if they could help or take our bags.  Speaking of bags, pack light as the second floor rooms do not have elevators.  I had to lug my bag and golf clubs up the stairs.
