AN AMERICAN IN PARIS
PARIS, FRANCE
We made a last minute decision to take the Eurostar Train from London to Paris. The two hour trip was smooth and comfortable. The train drops you off right in the heart of Paris. We hopped in a taxi and headed straight for the Eiffel Tower. Wow it was bigger than I expected. A beautiful yet industrial looking structure that is the heart of the city. The lines to enter the tower were a mile long on both sides. We opted to spend our time seeing more of the city rather than wait in line. Next stop was the Arch de Triumph along the Champs Elysees. Stopped in the Louis Vuitton shop along with a million other tourists, had a baguette sandwich along the Champs and walked for miles and just took in the city. We then jumped in another taxi and headed to the Louvre. Simply beautiful area. The lines were wrapped along the square for hours of waiting time to enter. Again we opted to keep moving and see more of the city. We walked and walked through the streets not knowing what the next turn would lead to. Just taking it all in and thanking the Lord for this great cold day. We stopped for a very leisurely lunch. Walked some more and just really enjoyed the city and this time together as a family. As the day turned into night, we had a nice dinner near the train station. Probably one of the nicest day of my life. Truly blessed to experience Paris, France and all of its beauty and history.
