For all the bad press San Francisco receives, it is still a beautiful city. Yes, there are places you do not want to walk through, drug abuse on the streets and an army of homeless people but at its core San Francisco is one of the most beautiful cities in the World. Incredible architecture, iconic neighborhoods, fantastic restaurants and majestic views. Union Square during the Holidays is magical with the outdoor skating rink and decorations. Six months ago we visited these same streets and it was scary during the day. During this visit there was a very visible police presence and security guards in front of every high end store. How it came to be like this is very sad for a city where the entire world once visited without worry. We felt safe in Union Square on this visit and the magic of San Francisco filled our eyes and hearts.
