EMMBER ROASTED GARLIC
PETITE TENDER BEEF FILET
DINNER AT HOME
Cruising through Sam's Club and saw something that I rarely notice at Sam's. A product was marked down for quick sale. The Emmber Roasted Garlic Petite Beef Filet that was originally almost $17 was on sale for $9.64. I turned the package over and saw that there were two pre-maritnated filet's and did the math. For under $10 I could feed the family dinner for two days. Cooking these filet's is super easy. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees and simply place the beef on a cooking rack over a pan. We cooked the filets until the internal temperature was 145 degrees. This resulted in a filet that was just over medium rare. The meat had flavor and you could really taste the garlic. Verdict on this one is pretty good especially if you can buy the product for almost 50% off the regular price. I served the filet with vegetables that we had in the refrigerator. Carrots, celery, asparagus and bell peppers. Quick saute in butter, ginger and garlic. Finished with salt and pepper and splash of honey.

Nicely done. I got one too, and it really didn't have complete cooking instructions for me. (Novice cook). I like your additions and simple approach. Just wish I lived next door and could come over to eat with you and your family!!
ReplyDeleteGREAT Idea Posting This! If I Hadn't found It I Wouldn't Have Been So Confident.
ReplyDeleteI am not a picky person but this meat tasted so bad that I had to throw it away! It had a strong beefy flavor that was awful. I'm so dissapointed in Sam's for selling it.
ReplyDeleteYeah, beef usually has a strong beefy flavor. Maybe you are just a chicken person and should avoid beef products.
ReplyDeleteGood Post though!
Don't have meat thermometer. How long will i have to cook it at 425
ReplyDeleteAnyone who likes Tenderloin (filet mignon) will probably like this product. I've tried often but never succeeded in producing a commercial quality filet at home on the grill until I tried this product.
ReplyDeleteIt is as good or better than what I find in resturants.
True, it is well seasoned, and that is what makes it great. If you're expecting chicken or bland meet, this is not for you.
I cut it into about 8 - 10 cubes and put it on the grill on non-stick alum foil. Turning every 3-4 min. Cooking time is about 10 -12 min. on mostly low heat (internal temp limited to about 400 - 420).
Personally, I've never ever had better beef...period!
Thanks to SAMS for making it available!
I discovered this item at Sam's last winter. - Thanks for posting roasting instructions. We love it!!
ReplyDeleteI don't see how LONG to bake it whole, no meat thermometer here.
ReplyDeleteHey Terri. I cook this once a week. I usually cook 1 filet 4 25mins. It is only slightly pink...
ReplyDeleteBought the members mark garlic filets today. They are awful. Poor quality cut and very over marinaded. Uhhhh
