My personal New Haven Food Tour started with Frank Pepe Pizza, Sally's APizza and now Louis' Lunch. Three spots in about three hours. Louis' Lunch was another Bucket List place for me and I am so glad we came here. As soon as you walk in this place you are transported back in history. It is truly like the place has not changed in 100 years. We scored a wooden booth next to the window which I think is the best seats in the house. Great location to watch the two people running the counter and cooking the burgers yap it up and chat with locals and tourists. Be prepared to wait 20 to 30 minutes for your burger. They can only do so many at a time with the original ovens. These burgers are all meat and pretty tasty. The cheese was lost and I never tasted it. Wish I could have had a larger slice of onion. So nice to enjoy this place and the birthplace of the Hamburger Sandwich.
