The Fairmont San Francisco is showing her age and it seems like the days of Presidents, Movie Stars and the Political Elite staying here has passed. The building, design and architecture are still beautiful, but the hotel is in need of a facelift to preserve the rich history that is so impressive. Service at the front desk on this visit was fantastic. There was quite a large line of people waiting to check in and the gal behind the desk took her time to make sure I was taken cared of. Really felt like she enjoyed her job and understood what customer service is all about. We only stayed one night here and the highlight was visiting the Tonga Room & Hurricane Bar. Cannot believe that I have stayed here before and never went to the Tonga Room. Found out that you need a reservation if you want to sit down and drink or dine here. You can however enter into the bar if you stand up and get bar service. Pretty cool spot.
