Booked a reservation at Fete on a Saturday night before seeing a show at the Hawaii Theatre. This is the perfect pre-theatre restaurant as it is only a block from the theatre. The place was packed at 5pm and we were seated in the back at a high top table along the window with a view of the kitchen. This was cool because you could see and hear every order being placed and watch the chefs work in harmony to get everything out efficiently. Pretty amazing to see just three people putting out all the food. They really work well together. We had an excellent waiter that while very busy kept us happy. We started with the Crispy Shrimp which are served whole including the head. Deep fried, topped with aioli and served with at Tomato Sauce. I don't care for aioli on Shrimp and the Tomato Sauce was very bland. These would be much better with a bolder sauce. Our next dish was on the Special Menu and it sounded amazing when the waiter described it. Turned out to be fried balls of rice with again that bland Tomato Sauce. Not my fave. My Wife enjoyed the Korean Bavette which I also tried and it was delicious. This dish was full of flavor and a nice kick of spicy heat. Served with Ginger Fried Rice and an Egg. I went with the Pasta Special which was Lasagna.
Very nicely made but very bland. There was not much flavor.
Overall food was just ok. Nothing I would come back for again.
