KAHAI STREET KITCHEN
237 Kalihi Street
Honolulu
Where does Drew eat lunch most everyday of the week when he is at the office. It is the Kahai Street Kitchen. Absolutely the best plate lunch joint in Honolulu. There is no better in my opinion. The menu changes everyday (sent every morning via email to your office) and you won't believe what is on the menu. Today I ordered Beef Wellington (the real deal) for under $8. There are only a few places that sell Beef Wellington in Honolulu and the price usually is in the $30 to $40 range. On other visits I have enjoyed Stuffed Cornish Hens that would sell for at least $30 for $7. The BBQ ribs platter is a full rack of ribs for $7. Fresh Ahi Tuna with salad and side goes for around $7. Some days there is steak and shrimp, stuffed chicken, braised pork, stir-fry, pork chops, prime rib, Duck breast and always fresh fish. Kahai Street is a take-out joint. There is no parking or seating. It is somewhat of an adventure to get in and out. We always order by phone and then leave the car running while parked in front. The place is only open for lunch. THIS IS A MUST TRY. I LOVE IT!
Yeah the food is great.
