I am a huge fan of Dave Portnoy and Barstool Sports Pizza Reviews. During the COVID19 lockdown Dave has been reviewing frozen pizzas from his home. Zuppardi's has the highest score to date with an 8.8. I went online after Dave awarded Zuppardi's with the high score and the site had crashed. Tried back for weeks and still could not order. When Carlo's Pizza in Atlanta scored an 8.1, I immediately went online and placed an order. The order was accepted in March and the Pizza arrived in July. Carlo's was hit with orders for over 20,000 pizzas from the Barstool Pizza Review. They call this the "Portnoy Effect". Hey I got to give it to Carlo's, they worked 7 days a week to fulfill every order. The pizza arrived well packaged and cooled with dry ice. They sold the pizzas in orders of (5) for I think $60. Placed the pie in the oven at 475 degrees and in 6 minutes exactly I had a Carlo's Pizza from Atlanta in Hawaii. The pizza was crisp and looked pretty good. Thought the flavor was really bland. Could not really taste the paper thin Pepperoni and the sauce was pretty tasteless. It was not bad, but definitely not great. It may be due to travel across the country and ocean so I will not write Carlo's Pizza off. Instead I will visit them in person on my next trip to Atlanta. This is my second try at purchasing Pizza online and shipping it to Hawaii. The first one was from New York and we had the same experience. Pretty bland and tasteless. Gotta be the travel.

UPDATE: Enjoyed a second Carlo's Pizza but this time I added Jalapeño and Onion. Cooked for only 6 minutes. Tasted a bit better than the first one. Doctored up another one with Italian Sausage, Onion and Jalapeño.
