My visit to the Botero Lounge at the Grand Wailea Resort was less than great. Sat at the bar and made eye contact with the Bartender who I thought would ask me if I wanted a drink. Waited and saw another Bartender behind him with his back to the customers and talking to the Sushi Chef's. As more people sat at the bar, the original Bartender still did not acknowledge me. Two men who were a couple sat down and immediately were greeted by the bartender. I continued to sit as another couple sitting a seat away from me rolled their eyes as they were not served either. After a few more minutes I saw that there were waitresses providing table service at the tables in front of the bar. I made one last attempt to order a drink and then got up and went to a table. A nice waitress took my order and brought me a drink. I ordered some very overpriced Sashimi which was good. My Wife joined me and we waited for the waitress to return so I could get the check. We looked over and saw both waitresses talking and looking at their phones while standing at the cashier station. You would never see this type of lack of service at an Asian Five Star hotel and I certainly didn't expect it at the Grand Wailea. I had to get up from the table and walk over to the cashier to pay the tab.
This place is in serious need of some management and training. Total disappointment and I never returned here during our stay.
