Our first stop upon boarding the Independence of the Seas was the Windjammer Cafe.  This is the buffet style restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu changes a bit each day but there are a lot of items that are served day after day.  By the end of our cruise the last place I wanted to eat on earth was the Windjammer.  The restaurant has a large salad bar for lunch and dinner plus burgers, hot dogs, pizza, sandwiches, soups and a wide variety of hot and cold dishes.  You can have Prime Rib one day, Steak, Seafood, Indian Food, Pasta and lots of international dishes.  There is a large selection but it just got old.  You can eat as much as you want for as long as you want here and people do.  Water, coffee, tea and milk is free.  You need to pay for cocktails, wine or soda.  They have a small section of the buffet called Jade.  This was mostly Indian dishes and not Asian.  There is a ton of food served at the Windjammer each day.  They work two sides of the ship so breakfast can be served while lunch is being set up on opposite side.  Lunch turns to dinner and the masses line up to enjoy the food.  While there was a lot of quantity, we think the restaurant lacked quality.  Serving this many people means you need to be safe.  There were not a lot of spices or bold flavors.  Pretty bland stuff.
