CANTINA LAREDO
CONCOURSE D
DALLAS/FT. WORTH AIRPORT
I passed on dinner the night before flying out of Palm Beach and did not eat breakfast while flying to Dallas. When I arrived in Dallas, I caught the tram to Concourse D to make a connection. As I walked towards my gate, I looked around for a place to eat. I saw Cantina Laredo - Gourmet Mexican Food up on the second floor and quickly found the elevator that led to the eatery. It was around 11:00 am and the place was empty. There were three employees sitting out front and I asked if they were open. "Yes" one of the guys shouted. "Been open since 8:00 am and you are our second customer". I was seated at a table overlooking the concourse and my waiter introduced himself as Jay. I remember this because he told me his name three times. Very personable and attentive. I ordered two Chicken Enchiladas and a Steak Taco with Beans and Rice. Jay told me that the enchiladas came with a Sour Creme Sauce. No problem I said. Chips and Salsa quickly were delivered to my table. Fresh and warm chips with a really good salsa. My plate arrived with a pile of white sauce over the enchiladas. Looked terrible. I started with the steak taco after adding guacamole and salsa to it. The taco was delicious. The enchiladas were filled with a pretty dry chicken. The sauce was pretty tasteless. I poured on a ton of salsa and they were eatable. Beans and Rice were good. Price for this meal was around $14. I liked the table overlooking the terminal and would definitely go back and eat here again.
