HOTEL VALENCIA SANTANA ROW
355 SANTANA ROW
SAN JOSE, CA 95128

We love Santana Row in San Jose and Hotel Valencia is the most convenient place to stay if you are going to spend time shopping and eating at the restaurants on Santana Row. While the service was better during this stay with much of the staff saying hi and welcoming us in and out, the overall level is not four or five star. Housekeeping is non-existent with no room cleaning unless you request it. On some days we did not even receive clean towels and had to call the front desk to get some. The rooms are poorly designed with a large desk but no storage. Lighting is terrible and the bathrooms are tight with small sinks and no counter space. Breakfast in Oveja Negro was expensive and hit or miss on the food. I can say that the lone waitresses in the morning did an excellent job and provided really good service. One morning the waitress delivered Avocado Toast to my table. When I showed her that the eggs were hard boiled and the Avocado was hard as a rock she immediately said I would not be charged. Not her fault so I still tipped for the meal. All in all we stay at the Hotel Valencia for the location and I don't think this place is worth the price. Just a heads up that this place rocks on the weekend. Be ready for some noise, busy elevators, packed bar and parties.
