We have been very blessed to travel throughout the world and dine at some pretty impressive restaurants. None however can compare to the view and ambience of Restaurant Le Lotus at the Intercontinental Resort in Tahiti. Words cannot describe the beauty of the setting sun or the view of the Island of Moorea from this jewel of a location. Wow.....just one of the most beautiful dining experiences ever. Breathtaking view that will remain with me for a lifetime. We were quite lucky on this night as our small pod only had a few tables of diners. Seemed like we had the place to ourselves except for the loud lady at the next table who just had to yap constantly. We tuned her out and enjoyed this great evening of food, family and an incredible view. Nothing could ruin this moment.
The food here took a backseat to the view with nothing really hitting high marks for us. I ordered the Scallops with Risotto and only ate one Scallop. Flavorless and overcooked. The Risotto was like mush and also lacked any flavor. My Roasted King Crab Salad contained very little Crab. In fact it was like small flakes of leftover crab meat. The Shrimp Ravioli had good tasting fresh shrimp but my Wife did not like the open style Ravioli. The Fois Gras with Tuna included perfectly cooked and delicious Fois Gras but the Tuna was a bit dry. The Filet of Beef was ordered Medium Rare and was delivered a little over Medium. Nothing special about this steak. The star of the eventing was the Lamb. My Daughter ordered this and loved it. I tried it and liked it too. While the food did not impress, the view and ambiance sure did. This was one of the most enjoyable places to eat in my life.
