Fridays during Lent mean eating no meat or chicken. My solution is the Seafood Buffet at The Kahala Resort. Love it!

Another nice lunch at Hualani's on Kauai. Just a beautiful place to relax and enjoy and incredible view and some good food. Started with the Smoked Ahi Dip with homemade Pickles. Loved the Pickles. The Ahi Dip was just ok and served with local Banana Chips.

The Blackened Ahi Sandwich was really good and I would definitely order it again. I requested the Kale Caesar Salad in place of French Fries. Not bad. This is a place you want to go to enjoy lunch or maybe a few sunset cocktails.

This Patricio's takeout was pretty terrible. The Beef Tacos were soggy and fell apart and they seemed smaller than previous orders. The Chicken Taquitos had no flavor and I only ate one. Love their Salsa though which is smoking hot. Could not believe that Chips and Salsa cost $9.

I have had good visits here so won't write this place off yet.

My Wife makes a homemade Caesar Dressing that is as good as any steakhouse. The Anchovies and Avocado set this salad over the top and make it a family fave!

I give Da Seafood Cartel a big thumbs up. Food was very fresh and flavorful. Started with the Chips and Salsa and loved the crispy chips. Salsa was really good but had very little heat. Wish they had a hotter version. The Steak Tacos were some of the best I have had in Hawaii. Recommend the Taco Cabo big time. Nice portion of Steak and Shrimp on a cheese filled tortilla. When you mesh everything together it is delicious and you won't be able to stop eating it. Recommend sharing as it is a large portion of food. The Chicharron Pescado was surprisingly good. We thought it was pork or chicken but turns out it is fish. They provide warm tortillas so you can make tacos. Loved the Cocktail Ceviche but again recommend sharing it as it is a large portion. My fave was the Tostada Embarazada which again is huge and probably should be shared. Fresh Shrimp, Octopus and a little Blue Crab spread. Lots of flavors here perched on a crunchy tortilla with nice Pico de Gallo and fresh Avocado. Yummy.

I saw an Instagram post of a local food blogger who praised the Shrimp Plate at Blue Seafood in Chinatown. He said it was the bomb and best in Hawaii. Had to venture into Chinatown and walk through the piss smelling streets so I thought this better be good. Entered Maunakea Marketplace to find the place bustling on a Sunday during lunch time. Went to the back of the market and found the seafood stall but they did not serve the Shrimp Plate. The gentlemen behind the counter did not speak English when I asked him about shrimp. Walked back towards the front and went down the alley filled with food stalls. Found Blue Seafood and was greeted by a young gentlemen. Both guys working here were very polite and nice. Ordered the Prawn and Shrimp Plate which set me back $19 plus tip. I asked for the spicy sauce on the side. The Prawns and Shrimp didn't have much taste at all and the sauce had no spice. Was like a sweet Chili Sauce. Cannot believe the food blogger praised this shrimp plate. Made no sense to me or my Wife. Would never order this again but did like the people working here.
