Brick Fire Tavern is nice.  Liked the look and feel of this neighborhood pizza restaurant.  Service at the bar was fantastic with a smiling and attentive bartender.  We started with the BFT Caprese Salad which included delicious tomatoes and fresh Mozzarella.  I did not however like the overdose of breadcrumbs and very glumpy balsamic.  Would have preferred just the cheese, tomato, basil and drizzle of balsamic.  The Bolognese Pappardelle was delicious.  Loved fresh pasta, meatball and sauce .  The Pizzas look fantastic coming out of the wood burning oven.  Nice crust but the entire middle of the pizza flops and the toppings fall off.  Nice flavor though.  Just wish the undercarriage was a bit more crisp and firm.  Overall we like this place and will definitely return.

These Cheeseburger Wraps were delicious.  My Wife said this is the only way she wants her burgers from now on.  I used low carb tortillas and topped them with ground beef.  Placed in pan and cooked the beef.  Placed a large plate on top and flipped it to get the tortilla and beef out of the pan.  Topped with sauce, cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELI

When our Daughter Keli was born in 2001, I carried her up the elevator to our then condo.  An older man saw us and said "enjoy every minute because time will go by fast".  These words have always been with me and now our baby is 22.  And yes, time did fly by fast.  Too fast.

So blessed to have Keli in our lives.  She has brought us so much happiness, joy and love.  Happy Birthday to Keli.  You are amazing, beautiful and still our baby.

These BBQ Pork Chops marinated in Mama Sita's Marinade and served with a spicy hot Finadene Sauce is a family favorite.  So much flavor and the Finadene Sauce takes it to another level of deliciousness!

I love hitting Sammy's Beach Bar & Grill on the way out of Maui after a day of work.  Always try to have the Beach Salad which I love.  This was my first Breakfast at Sammy's and it was a little underwhelming.  I ordered the Breakfast Burrito for $14.99.  Added Portuguese Sausage for another $3.00 so all in for the Burrito at $18.  The Burrito was pretty tasteless and there was no Portuguese Sausage in site.  Did not taste one bit of Portuguese Sausage.

We decided to check out the STIX ASIA food hall in Waikiki.  Arrived around 1pm on a Sunday and found half the restaurants closed and the ones that were open mostly empty.  Ramen and Udon were served in a few restaurants and there was a Korean Street Food place that just didn't seem appetizing at the time.  Sushi Matsuri stood out because it was clean, bright and open.  Several employees outside welcomed us and attempted to get us into the restaurant.  It worked and we were seated.  The Sushi Chefs all greeted us and menus and water were on the table in seconds.  Service was fantastic.  We had never been here and were just taking it all in and checking out the menu.  As we looked over the menu we thought something was wrong and didn't understand the concept as the prices were sky high.  I am talking expensive.  Like $68 for five pieces of Tuna or $110 for Sashimi.  We kept looking over the menu and were just blown away by the prices.  Some of the most expensive Sushi I have ever seen on a menu and we had just returned from Tokyo where we ate Sashimi for a week.  I wanted Shrimp Tempura so I ordered it for $14.75.  It was delicious.  Also went for the Clam Miso Soup for $5.75.  It too was good with three pieces of Clams.  We ordered the Dragon Roll Lunch Set which is served with Miso Soup at $20.75.  A small pour of Chardonnay set me back $17.  The food was great.  Service was great, but to enjoy a Sushi meal here is expensive.  Loved the place but not the prices.  Kept thinking that maybe this is special Sushi as the Dragon Roll was super delicious.  I wanted the five pieces of Tuna but couldn't think of dropping almost $70 on it or $110 for Sashimi.  Prices have certainly risen since COVID and I know first hand how expensive it is to operate a restaurant in Hawaii so I am not going to knock this place on price.
