DINNER AT HOME
We had some good friends over for dinner on our lanai. The food, evening and wine could not have been better. Cannot think of a restaurant on Oahu that could deliver this perfect feast.
We started with super fresh Ahi Sashimi, Duck Liver Pate and a Cheese and Salami Platter.
We took over an hour and a half to enjoy the appetizers and a little wine before bringing on the Wedge Salad with Pickled Beets, Bacon, Egg, Blue Cheese and Tomatoes. This salad rocked and our friends absolutely loved it. They especially liked the Pickled Beets that I made myself. My Wife gets all the credit for the main course of Steak, Lobster and Au Gratin Potatoes with Gruyere Cheese and Fennel. She cooked them in individual round containers and they were AMAZING. One of the best potato dishes of my life. As always she cooked the Steak and Lobster perfectly and served it with a little Asparagus with Hollandaise Sauce.
The grand finale of Chocolate Lava Cake and Roselani Vanilla Bean Ice Cream made this one of my favorite dinners ever. Our friends ate everything and couldn't believe we did all this at home. What a great night of food, friends and wine.
