BANYU BIRU VILLA - BALI

We have been blessed to travel the world and see many incredible and special places. Somehow this trip to Bali and the Banyu Biru Villa was one of the best vacations of our lives. We loved the Villa and Staff and did not want to leave. In fact, this place is so beautiful and relaxing that you really just want to stay here and hang out. With your own private Chef, it is easy to stay in for dinner many nights of the week but you also have a driver and van available to take you out to the best restaurants and spots in Bali. Between the Butler and the Driver, they were able to recommend restaurants, nightlife, sightseeing and shopping experiences that we loved. There is a great market within minutes of the Villa where you can stock up on water, adult beverages, snacks, fruits and food items. We shopped at the local markets for produce, fish and meats and then brought them back to the Villa for the Chef to prepare. Nights at the Villa were so relaxing with a dip in the pool, a glass of wine, great dinners and then more drinks on the deck and another dip in the pool. I loved the fact that we could wear our bathing suits and t-shirts to dinner. It is brutally hot in Bali and clothes are really not important. Shorts, slippers and light tops are all you need. I didn't wear underwear or pants for a week. It is just too hot. Once you go out into the sun, you just want to get back to air conditioning and the pool. Hitting the pool or beach is a must here. We all got sunburn so please double up on the sunscreen if you visit. The Villa is large and we did not use half of the space. The living room with a television was never used and in fact, it was very nice not to watch tv for an entire week. We stocked the Villa with Beer, Wine, Champagne, Seltzers and Mixed Drinks plus a ton of snacks. Ended up leaving half of it or more to the staff. So nice to pop a bottle of Champagne or Wine and just sit on the decks or cabanas and take it all in. Truly relaxing and truly a paradise. The staff was friendly and met all of our needs. Rooms were cleaned impeccably daily and our laundry was also done daily if needed. Our driver navigated the tight, bumpy and chaotic roads like a NASCAR driver and he also knew the best spots for dining and sightseeing. All of the restaurants he recommended were winners and a great experience. All of them will be posted on this blog. It was so nice not to have a schedule each day but when we wanted to do something we had a driver/interpreter to take us anywhere we wanted day or night. This made us feel very safe. We took a few long day trips and the air conditioned van with an experienced local driver made a huge difference in our vacation experience. Returning to the Villa each day we found the 24 hour Security Guard, Butler and Housekeeper all smiling and ready to assist us in any way. You can imagine why not one of us wanted to leave this place. Cannot wait to book another stay at Banyu Biru Villa. Truly a magical experience!
